“Turning Points” Peer Counselor Program
WYNGS has peer counselors who are at least 1 year post-injury themselves and have received some formal training. These counselors will visit newly injured people to assist through the grieving and healing process, provide resources and compassionate support through friendship, and will introduce people living with spinal cord injury to others experiencing the same challenges. These peer support counselors will also visit homebound individuals to ease the feelings of isolation.
